Web Dispatch

The Web Dispatch module adds the user dispatch option of Web Dispatch. If the Web Dispatch option has been selected, an ICA link will be sent in an email or SMS to the patrol user. When this ICA link is opened in a web browser, the patrol user can accept or reject a patrol job. If the job is accepted the user can add notes, log their time of arrival on site, and complete, or cancel the job.

Prerequisites

  • Web dispatch module registered
  • (Optional) Dispatch module configured. This will allow for extended features including selection of External Dispatch Companies as well as Internal Dispatch to your own patrol guards. See the Dispatch Module.

Setup

Using the web dispatch option requires the following options configured:

  • The Patriot ICA address setting in the Patriot System Wide Client Settings must be set to the public address of ICA
  • The patrol user must have the Web Dispatch option enabled and a Web Dispatch Notification Task should be selected.

  • The patrol user must have an email address or mobile phone no. Patriot will send the web dispatch email or SMS to the patrol according to the Number To Use setting of the Web Dispatch Notification Task.
  • A default messaging task for Web Dispatch notifications can be set via System Wide Settings > Response Settings > Web Dispatch > Web Dispatch Notification Task. This task will be used for web dispatch to patrol users who do not have their own task selected.
  • A custom Dispatch Message Format for Web Dispatch notifications can be set in the web dispatch notification task's settings. Its recommended that a Handlebars template is used which makes use of the PatrolDispatchMessage data type.
  • Optionally, you can enforce the rule that patrols responding to a web dispatch must log their time of arrival on site before completing the job. This option is configured through the Require On-Site Time web dispatch setting in the Patriot System Wide Response Settings

Web Dispatch requires a Work Order Category to be selected when dispatching. For information about how to configure a Work Order Category, please refer to Work Order Categories.
