What's New in 6.14

Patriot 6.14 introduced a range of new features across camera monitoring, client and zone maintenance, alarm response and reporting. Here are some of the key highlights.

Reporting and Data

Client Custom Fields

Available from 6.14.4.0.

Each monitoring centre can define the fields that suit its own operation.

As clients often carry additional information that doesn't fit Patriot's standard client fields, Patriot now supports Custom Fields - pre-configured fields that store structured, formatted information which can be displayed, searched and reported on.

Advanced Reporting via External Reports

Available from 6.14.1.0.

Operators can now run external report applications directly from Patriot, without leaving their normal reporting workflow; an external report application is any program that takes arguments from Patriot and produces an output file.

Integrators can build flexible customised reports which can fetch data from not just Patriot (via GraphQL, REST API or direct from DB) but also from external APIs and data sources.

An external report is configured to behave just like a built-in Patriot report, so you get the same options you already rely on:

  • Automatic scheduling
  • Single activations, work orders, patrol jobs, and equipment lists
  • Configurable variable inputs

Output can be emailed automatically, so external reports reach the right people without any manual steps.

Simplified Maintenance

Action Plan Redirect Rules

Available from 6.14.4.0.

Action Plans can now redirect to an alternative Action Plan based on an ordered list of Redirect Rules, configured globally on the Action Plan itself. Each rule names an alternative Action Plan and may combine multiple conditions. The first matching rule applies. Supported conditions test the alarm signal's:

  • Client status
  • Scheduled client status
  • Client group
  • Zone group
  • User group

Previously, redirecting to another Action Plan meant configuring an Override on each zone, user, client or dealer individually. The same override was often duplicated across every zone, user or client that needed it, creating a data entry and maintenance burden. Redirect rules are configured once.

Action Plan Overrides remain available at zone, user, client and dealer level where custom behaviour is needed.

Zone Groupings

Available from 6.14.4.0.

Custom Zone Groups can now be created and assigned to Zones. In combination with the Action Plan Redirect Rules, Zone Groups help simplify zone data entry. Loading a zone no longer requires consideration of Action Plan assignments or overrides - assign the groups that apply (e.g. PIR, Smoke, High Priority) and any redirect rule matching those groups applies automatically.

Zone groups are also available for use in GraphQL Reports.

Client User Groupings

Available from 6.14.4.0.

User Groupings can now be assigned to a user for specific selected clients. This gives greater flexibility to support users assigned to multiple clients with client specific response and reporting requirements.

E.g. a user assigned to both a residential and a commercial client can be given a reporting group on the residential client only, so they receive its monthly reports but not the commercial client's. The same user can be given a response group on the commercial client only, so they receive text notifications for commercial alarms but not residential ones.

Assign groupings to a user on a specific client from the 'Groups' tab of the user's Client Details.

ICA Bulk-import zones and users from CSV

Available from 6.14.0.0.

ICA now supports bulk-importing of zones and users from CSV. The Import CSV button is available on the Add Multiple Zones and Add Multiple Users pages, as well as on the Client Change Request form. After selecting your file, a mapping screen lets you match each CSV column to the corresponding field, with a preview of sample values to confirm the mapping.

Camera Feeds in ICA

Available from 6.14.1.0.

Camera feeds for supported cameras can now be viewed in ICA, in addition to the Windows desktop client. Multiple camera feeds can be viewed at the same time allowing operators to verify alarms from a web-browser. Camera feeds in ICA allows users to view all available channels on a client camera, in addition to camera feeds associated with a zone.

Nx Cloud Integration

Available from 6.14.1.0.

Nx Cloud is a simple way to connect to and manage an unlimited number of Nx Witness camera systems.

Patriot now supports live streaming and receiving alarm events from Nx Witness systems connected to the Nx Cloud platform, allowing easy connections to Nx Witness systems without on-site complexity. Live streaming is supported from both Windows desktop and ICA web clients.

New Network Video Stream Camera Integration

Available from 6.14.1.0.

Network Video Stream is a cross-platform replacement for Patriot's RTSP Camera integration, with minimal setup required.

The Network Video Stream camera feeds are available in ICA and the Windows desktop client, and no client files need to be installed on Patriot Client workstations to view the camera.

Switching an existing client from RTSP Camera to Network Video Stream is as simple as changing the client's Camera Type. No change is required in zone settings.
